The Academy is making some major changes to the Oscars starting next year. First, an earlier airdate for the show, February 24th. Second, they’re promising the broadcast will run only 3 hours! Of course they shoot for that every year, and it never happens. The 2018 awards show clocked in at almost 4 hours! How will it stay on time? Well, for one thing, instead of relying on the orchestra conductor to strike up the band to “usher” Oscar winners off the stage, they say winning moments will be EDITED and air later in the broadcast! I do not envy the producer in charge of that! To read about all the other changes, (including a new award category!) click HERE
