Moreno Valley school board member Mike Rios has been charged with two counts of attempted murder for allegedly shooting at a pair of men following a dispute at a nightclub. A Judge refused Rios request to be released on his own recognizance. He remains jailed on one million dollars bail. Rios faces life in prison if convicted on all charges.
A woman walking her dog in French Valley was attacked Tuesday by a man who choked and stabbed her before fleeing the area.  The assault happened around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Auld and Pourroy roads.  The woman was treated and released from the hospital.
The Obama administration today will unveil its method to overhaul the corporate tax code.  It would lower the top rate from 35-percent to 28-percent.  More total revenue would be produced by tossing “dozens of tax loopholes and subsidies.”
White House spokesman Jay Carney says there are “no magic solutions” to rising gas prices. Carney says domestic oil production is at an eight-year high and the current spike is due to instability in the Middle East and fluctuating global markets.
Lindsay Lohan is due back in a LA court this morning for a progress report on her probation.
Jennifer Aniston will be honored with a star on Hollywood’s walk of fame today. The star unveiling coincides with the release Aniston’s new film Wanderlust.
