A man was fatally shot outside a home in Highland last night. Authorities say there was some type of confrontation in the front yard of the home on Marilyn Avenue and the victim was shot in the abdomen. He reportedly died at a local hospital. There is no word on any arrests.

Newly released police surveillance footage appears to show the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed a Florida teen was not seriously injured.  The videotape obtained by ABC News shows the first images of George Zimmerman as he arrived at a police station following the deadly shooting of Trayvon Martin.  He did not appear to have any obvious injuries on the video.

Magic Johnson says he is thrilled to be part of the ownership group that has agreed to purchase the Dodgers for two billion dollars. Meantime there are reports that current team owner Frank McCourt will make as much as $one billion dollars on the sale.

Starbucks has fallen into disfavor among Vegans.  They’re calling on Starbucks to stop using beetles to color its strawberry Frappuccinos.  A vegan website has started an online petition urging Starbucks to switch to a plant-based coloring agent, like red beet.

Bluegrass legend Earl Scruggs, who played on the theme to the Beverly Hillbillies, passed away yesterday, at the age of 88.

Will Ferrell is returning to the big screen as Ron Burgundy.  Ferrel appeared as Burgundy on “Conan O Brian” last night to announce that he’s making an “Anchorman” sequel.
