An autopsy is pending for Rodney King, who was found at the bottom of the swimming pool at hishome in Rialto, early yesterday morning. He was rushed to the hospital but he could not be revived. Police say there was no sign of foul play.  King’s videotaped 1991 beating at the hands of LA police sparked the 1992 L.A. Riots. King was 47.

A brush fire in a remote area of the San Gorgornio Pass southeast of Beaumont is expected to be fully contained by this evening. It has burned more than 22-hundred acres and is 70-percent contained with full containment expected by tonight. No buildings have been damaged and its not known how the fire started.

Meantime–red flag warning will go into effect in the Inland Empire mountains and high desert starting at noon today as hot, dry and windy conditions move over the region.

The price for a gallon of gas has fallen below four dollars in the Inland Empire and it’s selling for three-97 per gallon on average this morning. It dropped two-point-six cents on Sunday…the lowest its been since February 17th.

Microsoft is expected to make a “major announcement” this afternoon. Many industry insiders expect today’s announcement to be the introduction of a Microsoft tablet computer.

Madagascar 3 was the number one movie over the weekend earning $35.5 million dollars. Prometheus was second with Rock of Ages opening in a disappointing third place.

Paul McCartney turns 70 today. But the former Beatle says he doesn’t have any lavish plans just a small gathering with family and friends.
