An investigation into the Jerry Sandusky case has found that Penn State officials including former football coach Joe Paterno repeatedly concealed critical facts in regard to child abuse scandal. A report by former FBI director Louis Freeh found that university officials showed a total disregard for the safety and welfare of the child victims. Sandusky is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse.

The hot weather continues today with increased humidity. The national weather service has issued a flash flood watch for the local mountains and high desert as a chance of thunderstorms develops this afternoon. Inland Empire temps are expected to be in the triple digits again today.

San Bernardino City Attorney James Penman says that city financial documents were falsified to show surpluses instead of deficits for 13 of the past 16 years. The city council voted Tuesday to file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection as the city faces a deficit of more than $45 million dollars. Penman says he has turned over evidence of suspected financial mismanagement to the appropriate officials, but gave no further details.

First-time claims for unemployment benefits are at 350,000, their lowest level this year.  Despite that, stocks are down.

If you’ve ever wanted your car to smell like the food at Disneyland, then you’re going to get the chance soon. Disney is going to start selling car air fresheners with four distinct scents. The scents include the barbecue turkey leg, candy apples, Mickey’s ice cream bars and Mickey’s waffles. They’ll be sold for five-95 each at Disneyland.
