
The National Weather Service says a possible tornado touched down in the Lake Elsinore area yesterday. The twister was spotted Sunday afternoon around 4:30 along Highway 74, just west of the 15 Freeway. At least a dozen power poles were knocked down along Menifee Road in Menifee. A second possible tornado was also spotted, but didn’t touch down. The extreme weather toppled power poles, tore roofing off homes and sparked over a dozen small fires. A man was reporteldy struck by lightning in Big Bear but his condition is not known. There is a possibility of more volatile weather and thunderstorms today.
A 12 year old boy accidentally shot an 11 year old girl at a home in Angelus Oaks yesterday. The girl is listed in good condition. Police are trying to determoine how the boy got the gun and if it had been properly stored..
