President Obama speaks to the UN General Assembly today about Mideast unrest and Iran’s nuclear program. The White House has released excerpts from the speech. Obama will say that “a nuclear-armed Iran is not a challenge that can be contained.”

Last nights Monday Night Football game ended with a controversial call that is heating up the furor over NFL replacement refs. The game ended when a Green Bay defender appeared to intercept a hail mary pass in the end zone but the replacement refs ruled that a Seattle receiver caught the ball for a touchdown. Seattle upset the Packers 14-12. The NFL regular refs have been locked out in a contract dispute. Meantime There is a published report this morning that the NFL is reportedly using referees who were previously fired by the Lingerie Football League for incompetence.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a 200-acre brush fire in Murrieta, but they say it likely “has a human element.” The Temprano Fire started Sunday in the Warm Springs Reserve and is now full contained.

27 people were arrested after police busted illegal street racing near Etiwanda and sixth in Rancho Cucamonga early yesterday morning. 17 cars were impounded.
