It may be the first day of October, but temperatures feel more like the middle of summer. A fall heat wave is continuing in the Inland Empire with temperatures expected to hit 105 in Riverside today, 106 in San Bernardino. The triple digit heat is expected to stay with us through Wednesday.

Firefighters are getting the upper hand on a brush that started in the hills above Banning Saturday afternoon. The fire has charred 280 acres and is 70 percent contained. No structures have been damaged but four firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Riverside police are asking for the public’s help in finding 30 year old Kimberly Lynn Dow who has been missing since Sept. 9. Investigators say her disappearance is suspicious. Dow suffers from a medical condition that requires medication to treat. President Obama says he is  eager to begin debating Republican nominee Mitt Romney. The first debate takes place Wednesday in Denver. Romney’s already in the Mile High City, continuing his debate prep and speaking at a rally tonight.

Governor Jerry Brown has signed legislation that will allow hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants to be eligible for a driver’s license. The legislation applies to those who will have the right to live and work in the U.S. under the President’s Deferred Action plan.

A new record is in place at the box office after “Hotel Transylvania” brought in 43-million-dollars at theaters over the weekend. That dollar amount was a new weekend record for September.

Anne Hathaway and her boyfriend of four years Adam Shulman are now married. The couple tied the knot Saturday night in Big Sur in front of more than 100 guests.
