California gas prices are reaching new heights. A daily report from Triple-A shows California’s average for regular unleaded is now four-dollars, 65-cents. Inland Empire gas is averaging $4.67. Governor Brown is calling on the Air Resources Board to allow refineries to switch to the cheaper, winter-blend fuel ahead of schedule. That could increase supplies by 8 to 10 percent.

A female San Bernardino County Sheriffs deputy at the West Valley Detention Center is accused of having sex with a 19 year old male inmate. Thirty-eight-year-old Katina Carter was arrested and put on administrative leave following a three-day investigation.

The government now says 91 people have come down with the rare fungal form of meningitis, because of tainted steroid injections. Seven people have died. Infections have been reported in nine states.

Two wedding parties got into a brawl that led to a fatal heart attack and several arrests in Philadelphia. It happened early yesterday morning at the Sheraton, Society Hill. Police say it appears a fight broke out in the hotel lobby between a wedding party holding a reception at the hotel and one returning to the hotel from a reception at another location.
