
The International Cycling Union is upholding Lance Armstrong’s lifetime ban and stripping him of his seven Tour de France titles. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency recently leveled a scathing one-thousand-page report against the cyclist, accusing him of being involved in the most complex cheating program in the sport.
A driver who apparently ran a red light is blamed for killing two people in a collision in Temecula Saturday afternoon. The crash occured at Rancho California when Christopher Bostic of Temecula reportedly ran a red light and hit a Honda CRV. A man and woman from Yorba Linda were killed. Bostic is hospitalized with major injuries. Its not known if drugs or alcohol played a part.
Inland Empire gas prices are dropping. IE gas prices have dropped 13 consecutive days and are now averaging 4.46 a gallon…thats still 60 cents higher than it was this time last year. But the Auto Club says gas prices could fall below four dollars in the coming weeks.
Nissan is recalling nearly 14-thousand of its Altima sedans to fix a problem with bolts that could fall out of the steering mechanism. The problem is with bolts that weren’t properly tightened and which could eventually fall out, making it difficult or impossible to steer the car. The recall involves 2012 and 2013 model Altimas built between mid-May and late July this year.
President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney face off tonight in the third and final presidential debate, just over two weeks before Election Day. Foreign policy is expected to dominate the 90-minute debate at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. The debate starts at 6 pm.
Rumor has it Apple is about to unveil its long-talked about iPad mini. The company has a media event scheduled for tomorrow. The smaller, alternative to the larger iPad would compete directly with similar tablets such as the Kindle Fire and Google’s Nexus 7.
“Paranormal Activity 4″ managed to scare up enough ticket sales to claim the top spot at this weekend’s box office earning $30 million dollars. Argo was a distant second.
