A a Maryland couple is suing Corona based Monster Beverage Company claiming the energy drink was responsible for the death of their 14 year old daughter who they claim died of caffeine toxicity. Monster has denied there drinks had anything to do with the teens death, but the case has led some lawmakers to call for limits on caffeine in energy drinks.

Highway 330 between Highland and Running Springs was closed for hours yesterday afternoon after a collision between a big rig and a car left two people dead. Authorities say the truck jacknifed across the road and collided with a car. The driver of the car was killed and the driver of the truck either jumped or fell from the rig and died at the scene.

Fire heavily damaged a Riverside apartment complex early this morning. The fire began in a ground floor apartment on Olivewood avenue just after midnight. All the residents escaped but damage is put at $100,000. Investigators say it looks like it was an electrical fire.

President Obama and Mitt Romney are heading down the homestretch after last night’s final debate. The president will campaign Floria while Romney is headed to Colorado. Rumor has it Apple is about to unveil its long-talked about iPad mini. The company has a media event set for today. The smaller, alternative to the iPad would compete directly with similar tablets such as the Kindle Fire.

The San Francisco Giants and the Detriot Tigers are ready to clash in the World Series. Last night, the Giants beat the defending champion St. Louis Cardinals, 9-0. Game one of the World Series begins tomorrow night.
