
It’s Black Friday. And that means crowds of bargain hunters will be hitting the stores today in search of deals. For those shoppers who just couldn’t wait until morning, Walmart, Sears, Toys R Us, and Target were among the retailers that opened their doors last night ahead of the usual rush on the day after Thanksgiving. After today’s shopping festivities comes tomorrow’s Small Business Saturday, which celebrates the little guys.
A tragic Thanksgiving Day pileup along Interstate 10 in Texas is being blamed on dense fog. At least 140 cars were involved in the chain-reaction crashes. Two people were killed and another 80 to 120 others were hurt.
Soon, the cash-strapped U.S. Postal Service will begin offering same-day delivery. The program is due to be launched in San Francisco on December 12th. If it works out there, the expedited delivery service could be rolled out in several other cities next year. The cost is expected to be about $10 dollars.
Boxing legend Hector “Macho” Camacho is expected to be taken off life support after being critically injured last week in a drive-by shooting in Puerto Rico. The 50-year-old has been declared brain dead.
Halle Berry’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her daughter was arrested yesterday after a physical altercation at the actress’ home. TMZ is reporting that Gabriel Aubry was dropping off their daughter when he reportedly got into it with Berry’s new fiance.
