
The Labor Department is reporting a third straight week of fewer new claims for unemployment benefits. Figures show 370-thousand first-time claims were filed last week. That’s 25-thousand less than the week before.
The parent company of Fresh and Easy is reportedly considering closing its 200 stores in the western United States. Fresh and Easy employs about 5000 people.Tesco says the stores are losing money and that it is reviewing its options including a possible sale.
