
Loma Linda University Health is making plans to build a major new medical clinic and training facility in downtown San Bernardino. The San Bernardino Sun reports that Loma Linda will build a four to five story clinic along the 215 near the stadium where the Inland Empire 66ers play. They hope to have the building open in 2014.

Two people are homeless after a fire destroyed their Calimesa mobile home. The blaze broke out yesterday afternoon in the sub-floor of the home at Rancho Calimesa Mobile Home Park. No one was seriously injured.

A study by Spanish researchers finds women who walk for at least three and-a-half hours a week have a lower stroke risk. The women who were consistent walkers were 43-percent less likely to have a stroke than those who weren’t active.

The world’s tallest thermometer is up for sale. The 134-foot-high thermometer, that has become an institution along I-15 in Baker, is on the market for one-point-seven-five-million dollars. The massive temperature-reader has been on the fritz for years, and some area residents say it’s become nothing but a giant eyesore. However, real estate agent Baron Castillo tells the “Los Angeles Times” the thermometer’s prime location along the interstate will entice buyers who could fix it up.
