39 people have to find a new place to live after their Moreno Valley apartment complex went up in flames yesterday morning. The blaze started in the attic of the StoneGate Apartments and grew to three alarms before crews were able to get a handle on it. A firefighter suffered minor injuries . The blaze caused one-point-eight-million dollars in damage to the 12-unit building. A cause is under investigation.

San Bernardino police need the public’s help in solving the murders of three elderly women in separate incidents. The women were all killed in their homes, while they were alone, and robbed. Police say so far, the murders in 2005, in 2010 and 2012 have not been linked by evidence.

Popular tv host Huell Howser has passed away in Palm Springs. The Tennessee native was perhaps best known for his long running travel show “California’s Gold.” Howser was 67.

Federal health officials continue to warn Americans about this year’s flu outbreak.  Officials with the Centers for Disease Control say this year’s flu season is shaping up to be the worst in a decade.  Forty-one states are already reporting flu cases and 29 of them have high or “severe” levels of influenza cases.

The focus will be on TVs as the International Consumer Electronics Show gets underway today in Las Vegas. Sony and LG will display some Ultra HD TVs, which have four times more pixels than regular HD.

On Thursday, the newest giant-panda cub at the San Diego Zoo will make his public debut. Zoo officials say Xiao Liwu, or “Little Gift,” is now six-months-old.
