A teacher’s aide at a Corona elementary school has been arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 13 year old girl he met through his work. 22 year old Steven Martinez of Norco was arrested Tuesday at Garretson Elementary and is being held on one million dollars bail.

A year of big screen action, drama and comedy comes down to this: the Oscar nominations.  Nominees for the 85th Academy Awards have been announced.  The films leading Oscar’s category for Best Picture this year include: “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Lincoln,” “Les Misérables,” “Life of Pi,” “Amour,” “Django Unchained,”and “Argo.”  Seth MacFarlane, who will host this year’s Oscar ceremony, was on hand to announce the nominees with Emma Stone in Beverly Hills Thursday morning.  Celebrating the best of film in 2012, the Oscars will be presented on Sunday, February 24th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Flu season is taking a heavy toll on much of the country. A nationwide flu outbreak has gone from bad to worse as it continues to spread. The CDC says three more states — Arizona, Montana and South Dakota — are now reporting widespread flu cases.

A new effort at Disney theme parks to crack down on ticket abuse is leaving some customers irked. Workers at Disneyland and California Adventure began taking photos this week of visitors entering the parks as they try to stop people from abusing the usage of multi-day “park hopper” tickets. Visitors are complaining about the photos causing nearly hour-long delays at park entrances. Disney officials are denying the new policy is leading to such delays.

The nation’s happiest workers are in Dayton, Ohio. Forbes.com ranks Dayton first on its list of happiest cities to work, citing employee reviews of their bosses, co-workers and salaries. Boulder, Colorado was ranked as the unhappiest city for workers.
