
A Caltrans worker was struck and severely injured by a hit and run driver along the 91 near downtown Riverside last night. The crash occurred at around 9:30 along the westbound 91 at the 14th street off ramp. The driver fled the scene but was found about a mile away. 32 year old Enrique Lopez of Moreno Valley was arrested for felony DUI. The Caltrans worker is said to be in critical condition.
A pedestrian was struck and killed in Highland early this morning. The unidentified man was struck by a mini van as he crossed 3rd street east of Tippecanoe.
A 12-year-old Riverside boy is expected to spend at least the next ten years behind bars after being found responsible for killing his neo-Nazi father. Joseph Hall shot his father Jeffrey in the head while he slept when he was ten years old. Jeffrey told police that he was abused but a judge ruled that he knew what he was doing was wrong.
Walmart says U.S. veterans looking for work will be hired. The company says, with some qualifications, they will hire any honorably discharged veteran within a year of them leaving the military. The hiring program will begin on Memorial Day.
The lawyer for Lindsay Lohan attorney is pleading not guilty on her behalf to a charge that the actress lied to police following a traffic accident last summer in Southern California. TMZ says attorney Shawn Holley entered the plea in a Los Angeles courtroom this morning even though Lohan fired her yesterday. The embattled actress was not in court today.
Oprah is describing her interview with Lance Armstrong as “intense and emotional.” Winfrey says Armstrong was very forthcoming in answering questions about his use of performance-enhancing drugs. However, Winfrey says he did not come clean in the manner she expected. The interview will air in two parts Thursday and Friday nights.
