
The winter storm that brought rain, snow and hail to the Inland Empire overnight is expected to move out of the area by noon. Rain and snow fell overnight but most of that has moved on…chains are required in the mountains… Big bear still getting snow. The Cajon Pass is open, but has had a number of accidents. Classes have been canceled in the Bear Valley, Rim of the World, Snowline, Hesperia and Apple Valley school districts. Forecasters say a weaker storm system is expected tomorrow.
San Bernardino’s annual classic car show has been put on hold. Event organizers have canceled this years Route 66 Rendezvous due to financial troubles. Its main sponsor, Stater Brothers, says the classic car show is coming back “bigger and better,” but it didn’t say when.
Hundreds of people turned out in Yucaipa last night for a candleight vigil for slain San Be5rnardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremiah McKay. McKay was killed in a shootout with ex cop Christopher Dorner. McKays funeral is tomorrow at the San Manuel Amphitheatre in Devore…meantime, someone is trying to sell extremely gruesome death photos of Christopher Dorner to the media. TMZ says someone shopped the photos to them, but they did not buy them.
Sony is expected to unveil its latest home video game console today. The Japanese electronics maker is widely believed to be coming out with a new PlayStation aimed at helping it reclaim its top spot in the industry.
The Lakers are adding a purple and gold “JB” patch to their jerseys. It’s to honor the team’s late owner Jerry Buss. The team will also hold a moment of silence before tonight’s game against the Celtics. Buss died Monday at the age of 80 after a long battle with cancer.
