A murder suspect who exchanged gunfire with deputies in Yucaipa Friday afternoon has been found dead in Angelus Oaks. 52 year old Brian Forrett opened fire Friday as deputies approachedc and then fled. He was found dead from a self inflicted gunshot the next day inside his vehicle. He was wanted for questioning in the beating death of a 79 year old Riverside woman.

Police in Beaumont are looking for a woman who’s a person of interest in connection with the death of her 44-year-old female roommate whose body was found Thursday night. Detectives want to question 30-year-old Vanessa Fierro.

A man suspected in a deadly shooting on the Las Vegas Strip last month is due in a LA court this morning for an extradition hearing. Ammar Harris was arrested last Thursday.

“Jack the Giant Slayer” climbed to the top of the box office this weekend, but the victory wasn’t quite as big as the film’s title suggests.  It easily won the weekend with an estimated 28-million dollars in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada.  But because the 3D retelling of the “Jack and the Beanstalk” fairy tale cost 189-million dollars to make, the opening numbers are a little underwhelming.  Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy’s comedy “Identity Thief” nabbed the runner-up position this weekend with nine-point-seven-million dollars, and the new comedy “21 and Over” debuted at number three with nine-million dollars.
