Sean Lowe’s search for love is over. On Monday night’s episode of ABC’s “The Bachelor,” Sean gave Catherine the final rose and got down on one knee to propose.

After the final rose ceremony, Sean and Catherine sat down with host Chris Harrison to update fans on their relationship. Together the couple also watched footage of Sean’s proposal for the first time. Reliving the experience caused Sean to tear up, something he admitted was rare for him. The couple also announced that their wedding would be covered by ABC as a television special, even though they do not have a date set.

Before Catherine got the final rose, Sean’s family joined him in Thailand to meet the two women. Catherine seemed to make a big impression with Sean’s family. His father sat down with Catherine and told her that if Sean picked her he would be her biggest fan and that he would love her like his own daughter. After dinner, Sean said he could picture Catherine as part of his family. Meanwhile, Lindsay also hit it off with Sean’s family. She was able to laugh with the group about her ambitious arrival in a wedding dress at the show’s start. Sean’s family understood why he was torn about who to choose, but his mom warned him that if he was in love with both Lindsay and Catherine, he shouldn’t propose to either. On his final date with Lindsay, Sean took her on river cruise. After their cruise, the two launched paper lanterns into the night sky with their wishes of “love,” “happiness” and “family.” The next day Sean took Catherine on a date that she would never forget. The pair rode an elephant to a hilltop hut with a view, where they enjoyed a glass of champagne. As the day winded down, things took an awkward turn. Catherine opened up to Sean and confessed that she loved him. But Sean did not respond in kind. Instead he simply thanked her for a wonderful day. Sean’s response left Catherine questioning whether she could spend the rest of her life with him.

Meanwhile, the new “Bachelorette” was also announced Monday night. Fan favorite Desiree will get her chance at love when 25 men from across the nation will vie for her heart this summer.
