Former Moreno Valley Councilman Marcelo Co  is expected to plead guilty to taking the largest bribe ever accepted by a public official. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Co has agreed to plead guilty to federal bribery charges for taking a two-point-36-million dollar cash bribe from an undercover officer posing as a real estate broker. He faces up to 13 years in prison

Voters have recalled San Bernardino city attorney James Penman. He’ll be replaced by real estate attorney Gary Saenz. Meantime–councilwoman Wendy McCammack got the most votes for mayor and will face accountant Carey Davis in a run off. Ironically, voters in McCammacks 7th ward also voted to recall her from the city council.

Two people were killed early this morning when their car smashed into a palm tree in Riverside. The Press Enterprise reports that the speeding car crashed along Jackson Street east of California and the area is closed for the investigation.

A woman walking her dog in the desert community of Phelan found a human skull yesterday morning. No other bones were found.

Freeway signs are lit up this morning for an amber alert out of Sunnyvale. Police are looking for a 22 year old man who took a baby. He was last seen driving a tan 2004 GMC Envoy with a Plate 6-HIL-892 and a large eagle decal on the back window.

Police aren’t sure know why a man jumped from a helicopter off Newport Beach yesterday. The 61-year-old man hired the private helicopter to take him over the Orange County coast line and leapt hundreds of feet into the ocean.

A Riverside man has been arrested for the theft of two Chick-Fil-A cow costumes. Police say a Craigslist ad led officers to the cow costumes that were stolen earlier this year from a storage facility in Redlands. Robert Trytten is being held on $275,000 bail.
