Forecasters now say the two storms moving in to the IE this week will likely produce the biggest rain totals we’ve seen in three years. Light rain is expected to fall overnight tonight and then a larger storm comes Friday that could drop 1-2 inches of rain in the valleys and 6-10 inches of snow in our mountains.

A teacher at Beaumont high school has been put on paid adminsitrative leave while officials investigate allegation of misconduct. The district did not identify the teacher or what allegations have been made.

The pressure is mounting on Governor Jan Brewer to veto Arizona’s controversial “Religious Freedom Restoration Act.” The bill would allow businesses to refuse service to gays and other groups if it conflicts with their religious faith. The governor is expected to decide whether to sign or veto the bill in the next few days.

A new federal study shows obesity rates for preschoolers have dropped over the last decade from nearly 14 percent to around eight-a-half percent. But the same report shows that women 60 and over are getting heavier with the obesity rate rising to 38 percent.

Everyone has probably imagined at one time or another what it would be like to find buried treasure. That recently turned into reality for a couple in Northern California who found eight cans filled with rare gold coins while walking on their property. The cans ended up holding more than 14-hundred gold coins dating back to the Gold Rush period. The coins are said to be worth up to $10 million dollars.
