Elizabeth Taylor’s first wedding dress is up for auction.

The shell-white satin gown the legendary Hollywood actress wore at the first of her eight weddings is expected to raise $75,000 when it is sold at Christie’s in London on June 26.

The Helen Rose-designed gown was worn by a then 18 year old Elizabeth when she wed Hilton Hotel founder Conrad Hilton in 1950.

The luxurious dress has a petite 20-inch waist, 15 yard train and is decorated in bugle beads and seed pearls. It’s thought the gown took seamstresses two to three months to create.

Elizabeth was gifted the dress by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the film studio to which the ‘Cleopatra’ actress was contracted, for her big day but the actress’ subsequent marriage didn’t last long – ending after just nine months in 1951.

The star would go on to wed another seven times to six more men – marrying her most famous counterpart, ‘Cleopatra’ co-star Richard Burton, twice.

Elizabeth’s famous Bulgari necklace, which was gifted to her by Richard, was recently worn by ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ actress Jessica Chastain as she hosted a 50th anniversary screening of the classic film at Cannes Film Festival.

The flame-haired beauty became only the second person to wear the lavish jewellery – which boasts a 26-carat centre stone – after Elizabeth, who died in 2011 from congestive heart failure.
