Tara Reid is not fin-ished yet.
The 37-year-old actress took to Twitter to deny a report that surfaced on TMZ claiming she wouldn’t be invited back for a “Sharknado” sequel.
“There is no script for sharknado 2 until i read it then i will make a decision but everyone that is saying i got cut that is not true#liars,” she tweeted Sunday afternoon.
Reid, who reportedly made $50,000 for her role in the campy SyFy Channel movie, had previously said she’d be down to reprise the part of hero Fin’s (Ian Ziering) whiny ex-wife, April.
After a creative drought in recent years, the “Van Wilder” and “American Pie” star has enjoyed the spotlight since the surprise success of “Sharknado.” The B movie about a perfect storm that rains live sharks on the sushi-loving populace of greater Los Angeles spawned an average of 5,000 tweets per second during its original broadcast. The movie will be screened at a midnight showing in 200 theaters across the country on Aug. 2.
Not surprisingly, SyFy greenlit a “Sharknado 2” almost immediately and without a script, sold on the premise of moving the carnage to a bigger stage, New York City.
“Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm — on television,” said Thomas Vitale, executive vice president for programming, said in a release. “The fans are clamoring for a sequel. Or perhaps it will be a prequel. What we can guarantee is that Sharknado 2 will be lots of fun.”
