Millions of Americans are hoping to defy the odds today and walk away with a truly mega Mega Millions jackpot. Tonight’s big drawing will be worth at least 586-million dollars. And as if that’s not enough, lottery officials haven’t ruled out the possibility that it’ll be bumped up even higher before then. As it stands, the 586-million bucks, makes it the fourth-largest jackpot in U.S. history.

A Riverside woman is jailed for allegedly hitting and killing a motorcyclist and fleeing the scene. The crash happened early yesterday morning on the 91 freeway in Riverside. Police later arrested 23 year old Monique Johnson for DUI and felony hit and run. The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.

A wildfire burning along the Central California coast has destroyed more than a dozen homes including the home of the local fire chief. The blaze in the Big Sur area has charred 550 acres since Sunday.

A new editorial is ripping into the health benefits of vitamin supplements. Published in the journal “Annals of Internal Medicine,” the editorial claims that research does not show a health benefit to taking most vitamin supplements and that they don’t seem to prevent death or disease.

Facebook is expected to begin selling video ads later this week.  The “Wall Street Journal” reports Facebook plans to make the announcement today and ads will begin playing in users’ newsfeeds on Thursday.  The ads will play automatically in web browsers and on smartphones.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has a new batch of inductees. The Hall announced late last night that the Class of 2014 will include  Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, Nirvana, Kiss, and Peter Gabriel.
