A San Bernardino man is accused of stabbing his ex-wife and six-year-old daughter to death, and then trying to kill himself. Police responded to a home in the 300-block of 29th Street early yesterday morning after 48-year-old Jordan Santario confessed to stabbing his family to death and attempting suicide. He was rushed to a nearby hospital to undergo surgery on his wrists and is expected to be charged with two counts of murder once he’s released. Police say Santario has no criminal record in either San Bernardino or Riverside counties.

Police are investigating a deadly New Year’s Day stabbing in Riverside.  It happened outside a residence on Mountain Avenue in the La Sierra neighborhood early yesterday morning.  Police say an argument between partygoers and a group walking by the house party prompted the stabbing that killed 18-year-old Christian Cano.  So far, no arrests have been made.

Police say 19 animal rights protesters were taken into custody for trying to stall the Sea World float at the start of the Rose parade yesterday morning.

A trip to an LA grocery store may end up costing you more than you plan for. A ban on single-use plastic grocery bags took effect Wednesday in LA. Customers now have to bring reusable bags to carry their groceries out of the store or pay ten cents per paper bag.

Fiat is gobbling up the rest of Chrysler. The Italian automaker has reached an agreement to buy the 41-percent stake in Chrysler that it didn’t already own.

James Avery, who played the beloved uncle Phil on the 90s sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” is dead. The 65-year-old Avery died Tuesday night at a Glendale hospital from heart surgery complications.

A new skate park is rolling into Lake Elsinore.  The city is planning to build the facility for skateboarders and BMX riders on Palomar Street near Corydon Street at Serenity Park.  Officials say the rink will feature banks, ledges, stairs and spines.  The Serenity Skate Zone is slated to be completed this summer.
