A former Moreno Valley teacher is leaving her position at another school after molestation accusations against her wound up on YouTube. Alhambra High School assistant principal Andrea Cardosa has resigned her post after being confronted by a YouTube video. On it, alleged victim Jamie Carrillo secretly recorded a phone conversation with Cardosa in which she accuses Cardosa of molesting her when she was 12 years old as a student at a Moreno Valley school.

The Murrieta City Council is expected to decide today whether a large apartment complex will rise in the city. The plan calls for 112-units to be built near Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Via Princessa. Residents say the apartments would bring more traffic to an area that is already congested.

Riverside wants to crack down on panhandlers in the city. City officials have started a new campaign featuring posters and banners discouraging residents from giving panhandlers money on city streets and freeway off-ramps. Police are also looking for “aggressive” solicitors who will be taken into custody if caught looking for a handout near ATMs, buses and other places.

The 85 wealthiest people in the world have as much money as half the population of the Earth. That’s the finding of a new report from Oxfam, which says the disparity between the richest and the poorest is threatening human progress.

A new study suggests people who have guns in their homes are twice as likely to be killed and three times more likely to kill themselves. Researchers at the UC-San Francisco found that men and women with access to guns were equally likely to commit suicide, but women were three times more likely than men to be shot to death by someone else.

Ellen DeGeneres has topped a list of the America’s favorite tv personalities. Ellen earned the number one spot for the second year in a row. “NCIS” star Mark Harmon is this year’s runner-up, followed by “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart.
