Freshman Inland Empire Congresswoman Gloria Negrete McLeod, who beat longtime congressman Joe Baca in a bitter election in 2012, will not seek re-election this year. Her district includes Chino, Ontario and Upland.

She has decided to run for a San Bernadino County supervisor’s seat instead. Baca responded to the news by calling Negrete-McLeod a “bimbo”. He later apologized for what he called a poor choice of words.

A staff member at a Riverside church has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 14 year old girl.

37 year old Gionaten Almaraz of Moreno Valley was arrested Tuesday for incidents that allegedly took place at the Riverside Apostolic Church.

A member of the Wisconsin National Guard is suspended and has reportedly been receiving death threats over a photo of soldiers making fun of military funerals.  The photo in question shows a group of guard members smiling and holding goofy poses around an empty, American-flag draped casket.  The picture was taken during training for funeral honor details.

The State Department is warning Americans in Ukraine to stay off the streets as violence continues between riot police and anti-government protesters in Kiev’s main square.  More than two dozen people were killed and hundreds injured yesterday in the worst violence since demonstrations against Ukraine’s president began about three months ago.

A man is fighting the anti-long hair policy for prison guards. Mark Williams works at the Men’s Prison in Chino and sports dreadlocks about six inches below his shoulders. He says he faces disciplinary action over a policy that doesn’t allow men to have long hair. He is on a self-imposed administrative leave until the issue is resolved.

Devo guitarist Bob Casale has died.

His brother says he died suddenly Monday from heart failure brought on by other health complications. He was 61.
