A heartbreaking accident in the High Desert. Authorities say a seven year old girl was struck and killed by a car Thursday morning in Hesperia as she crossed a street to her bus stop. The driver of the car stopped and was not cited. Taylor Chriswell was a second grader at Juniper Elementary.

Two large grocery chains are merging. The parent company of Albertsons is acquiring Safeway which own Vons and Pavilion stores. The merger price is put at $9 billion dollars.

A Ventura man is suing a Las Vegas casino to get a half-million dollar gambling debt erased claiming he was too drunk to remember gambling for 17 hours straight. Mark Johnston says he was already drunk when he arrived at the Downtown Grand Casino Super Bowl weekend and the casino than served him about 20 free drinks before increasing his credit line. Nevada law prohibits casinos from letting obviously intoxicated people gamble.
