Police in Rancho Cucamonga are asking for the publics help in finding the killers of a good samaritan who came to the aid of a homless man early Sunday morning. Authorities say 40 year old Donnie Reed was leaving Stix Sprots Grill when he saw some men hassling a homeless man. When he tried to intervene, a fight started and Reed was fatally stabbed.

The cost of getting where you are going is going higher as gas prices continue to tick upward in the Inland Empire. The average price is logging in at four-dollars-and-24-cents a gallon in the IE. That means you are paying about 16-cents more than a week ago. Triple-A says the rising prices are partially due to refinery maintenance, switching over to the summer blend gasoline and tensions in the Ukraine.

Rescue teams are still searching this morning for more than 300 people missing after a passenger ferry sank off South Korea today. The ferry was carrying more than 470 people, most of them high school students. At least two people are dead.

A man is facing charges over one of two suspicious backpacks left near the Boston Marathon finish line last night. Witnesses say the man was acting suspicious when he dropped the bag which apparently contained a rice cooker. The area was evacuated, and both backpacks were detonated by the bomb squad as a precaution. The other bag was left behind by a news team.

A new blood test could predict if breast cancer will return. Johns Hopkins University said the test measures changes in breast-cancer genes. Those changes predict the disease’s return with nearly 95-percent accuracy and help doctors monitor treatment response. More tests are planned before its made available.
