Angry students, parents and Jewish leaders confronted the Rialto school board last night over a recent 8th grade assignment that asked students to argue whether the holocaust occured or not. District officials have apologized saying say the was a mistake and a misguided effort to promote critical thinking. Students who were given the assignment will instead take a field trip to the Museum of Tolerance.

A small 3.3 quake centered near Downey rattled Southern California at 11:39 last night. It was felt over a wide area but no damage is reported.

A heart breaking tragedy for the family of a two year old San Bernardino girl who was gravely injured by a hit and run driver along Mt View Avenue Sunday night. Aisanae Thomas has been declared brain dead and is on life support, but family members are holding out hope for a miracle. Police are looking for the driver of a dark colored late model pick up with a flatbed that fled the scene.

Another reminder to not leave your pet in the car…a Coachella woman is facing animal cruelty charges after her dog was found dead in her car. Officials say the dog had been in there for about a day.

The cost of online shopping could be going up…starting next year, FedEx says all of its ground packages will be priced according to their size, not just their weight. The new policy will increase shipping costs by hundreds of millions of dollars and online retailers are expected to be the hardest hit.

A new Mother’s Day Poll shows 91-percent of people plan on buying their mom a gift this year but 85 percent said they are worried about getting the wrong gift. It will soon look like you’re getting more meat on your sandwich at Subway. Subway has announced they will begin slicing their meat thinner so you’ll get 12 slices of meat on a foot long compared to eight. Its the same amount of meat it just looks like you’re getting more. They say tests show people prefer 12 slices to 8 slices.
