Former Menifee resident and newly crowned Miss USA is again fighting allegations that she is a beauty pageant carpetbagger. Nia competed in the Miss USA as Miss Nevada but allegations surfaced last week that she didn’t actually live in the state. And yesterday, while on a New York radio station Nia couldn’t name the capitol of Nevada. She says she forgot.
General Motors is recalling another three-point-four-million vehicles because of ignition switch problems. The Detroit-based automaker announced the recall of vehicles from 2000-2014, including the Buick LaCrosse, the Cadillac Deville and the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. GM officials say the issue involves ignition switches that could inadvertently move out of the run position if the key has extra weight and the vehicle experiences a jarring event such as hitting a pothole. The latest recall comes as GM CEO Mary Barra is scheduled to testify today before a U.S. House subcommittee on an internal investigation into the delayed recall of two-point-six-million vehicles for another ignition switch issue.
Chicago and Milwaukee are both under tornado watches this morning. Two people were killed and more than 20 injured after the two tornadoes touched down yesterday in northeast Nebraska.

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti is making headlines after dropping a F-bomb during yesterdays celebration of the LA Kings Stanley Cup win. His comments got cheers from the team and fans but several TV stations carrying the rally live had to apologize and some parents took to social media compalining that the mayors comments were inappropriate.
