Taylor Swift announced today (5/30) that she has regained control of her catalog, nearly six years after it was sold to music manager Scooter Braun, who then sold it to private equity firm Shamrock Capital. The saga (read the backstory here) began in June 2019, when Braun bought Swift’s former record label Big Machine and, with it, all of the songs from Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989 and Reputation. Swift made the announcement – posting a letter that read in part:  “I’ve been bursting into tears of joy… ever since I found out this is really happening.” Read the full letter HERE
