Matt Damon recently joined Travis and Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast, opening about the intense prep for his role as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. After photos of his lean, muscular look from set went viral, Damon said Nolan wanted him to appear strong and battle-ready, which meant dropping significant weight through strict training and diet changes. One key adjustment, made on his doctor’s advice, was cutting out gluten — helping him reach about 167 pounds, well below his usual 185–200. Damon also reflected on past extreme transformations, including his weight loss for Courage Under Fire, which he later learned could have caused lasting damage — a subtle reminder that those changes come with risks. The Odyssey is set for a July 17 release. More here.
