Some big sparks in the Red Hot Chili Peppers universe right now.
The band is officially back in the garage working on new music – their first real stretch of new material in four years. That’s huge.
On top of that, rumors about Flea going solo? True. He’s dropping a solo record in March, jazz-inspired, experimental with names like Thom Yorke and Nick Cave. Talk about a wild mix. Exactly the kind of curveball only Flea would throw.
I’m also fresh off Anthony Kiedis’ autobiography Scar Tissue… and wow. Easily the craziest, rawest and most extreme memoir I’ve read in a long time. That book makes their entire catalog hit different.
If all this movement is happening, I’m hoping it means one thing:
a new tour announcement is coming sooner than later.
