Katy Perry came up short in a legal battle against an Australian designer with the same name. Designer Katie who spells her first name with an “i.e.” instead of a “y,” received a cease-and-desist letter from single Katy a while back saying a fashion brand couldn’t be launched under the name. But the dispute finally came to an end Wednesday, (03.11,) when the Australian High Court ruled in favor of the designer saying her clothing line does not violate Katy’s trademark.
