A24’s trailer for Backrooms looks absolutely bizarre. If you are not familiar with the whole Backrooms thing, it started as an internet horror idea about falling out of normal reality and ending up in this endless maze of empty yellow rooms, buzzing fluorescent lights, and office like spaces that feel weirdly familiar but completely off. That alone is creepy enough. Now A24 is turning it into a full blown movie directed by Kane Parsons and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, and Mark Duplass.
Even if you are not deep into the lore, the trailer has that eerie found footage feel and the kind of atmosphere that gets under your skin. Backrooms hits theaters May 29.
