NASA’s Artemis II crew did way more than just break a record Monday. The crew passed behind the moon, lost contact with Earth for about 40 minutes, and got a rare look at the moon’s far side during a six hour swing around it. They also saw a total solar eclipse from space, spotted massive craters and mountain ranges, and then came back around to that unreal Earthrise view.
That is the kind of stuff that makes this feel bigger than just another space update. It feels like the first real moon mission moment in a very long time. Cue Pink Floyd.
