Billie Eilish is bringing her latest tour to the big screen with Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), a visually immersive concert film she co-directed alongside James Cameron. The movie is now scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 8, after being pushed back from its original March release date.
Filmed during Eilish’s massive global run—spanning 106 shows before wrapping up in late November at San Francisco’s Chase Center—the project captures the energy and scale of one of the most in-demand artists of her generation. Using cutting-edge 3D technology, the film aims to place audiences right inside the live experience.
A newly released trailer offers a glimpse behind the scenes, opening with Cameron’s voice declaring, “It’s your show. It’s your creative vision. This is gonna blow people’s minds,” before cutting to moments of Eilish preparing for performances. In another clip, she shares, “The day of a show is, for me, it just feels like any day at all. I just feel like I’m like going to hang out with my friends.”
Described as a groundbreaking concert presentation, the film blends performance footage with intimate moments from life on tour. Beyond music, Eilish is also expanding her presence in film, with a role lined up in a screen adaptation of The Bell Jar directed by Sarah Polley—marking her first major acting project.
