It’s official the guy who captivated hearts when he won college football’s highest award, is now a Las Vegas Raider. Fernando Mendoza was the first pick in Thursday’s (04.23,) NFL Draft. His speech in December made moms everywhere, (including me,) instant fans. I totally teared up when Mendoza told his mom, that the Heisman Trophy was as much hers as his because she’s always been his biggest fan and supporter. Prior to playing for Indiana, Mendoza was a QB at Cal Berkeley (Go Bears!!)
