California’s minimum wage is going up again in 2027, giving hourly workers another bump in pay.
You know what’s funny? I was thinking back to my first jobs, and I realized I never really had a traditional hourly job at first. I sold newspapers for the Daily Bulletin, then sold Cutco knives. Crazy, right? At the same time, I was DJing weddings, birthday parties and pretty much anything that needed music.
My first actual hourly job? Customer service… at a telemarketing company. Yeah… I almost don’t even want to admit that one. We’ve all had a job we’d rather leave off the résumé!
