Farewell Inland Empire
Dear KOLA Listeners,
As the saying goes, “Nothing ever lasts forever,” and it is with a mix of emotions, both gratitude and a touch of sadness, that I announce my official retirement from KOLA 99.9.
With 42 years in the radio business, 31 years at KOLA, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you. For over three decades, you all have welcomed me into your cars during commutes, workplaces, homes and your headphones during daily walks. Sharing my mornings and afternoons with you has been the highlight of my career.
I have truly loved connecting with you, hearing your stories, your music requests, and sharing in the laughs and daily challenges. It wasn’t just a radio show, it felt like spending time with friends. I will always cherish the memories we’ve made together. Thank you for listening and for making my dream job so much fun.
I want to give a special shout out to my amazing colleagues here at the station, they are dedicated and talented, and I will miss being part of this team.
I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life to spend more time with my wife Lisa, 6 children and granddaughters. I’m excited about the future, but leaving this community is bittersweet.
While I won’t be on the airwaves anymore, I will still keep in touch as I begin my next chapter. You can reach out to me and follow my journey on Instagram at @dj_vicslick.
Thank you for your friendship, for including me in your daily lives, and for making this the best job in the world. You will always hold a place in my heart.
Tune in for my final week here at KOLA 99.9 from December 8 – 12, 2025 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. to hear me sign off one last time.
With all my best wishes and deepest gratitude,
Vic Slick
