KOLA Cruise Away Friday | Contest Rules

Weekdays:  7:40a, and during the hours of: 9:00a, 10:00a, 11:00a, 12:00p, 2:00p and 3:00p.  Contest times are not guaranteed.  No contest qualifying on Grand Prize Friday’s at 7:40a.  At KOLA 99.9’s discretion, specific days and times may be changed at any time.  An announcement to that change will be made on-air at the time of that change.

2)    Any person winning over $600 in prizes in a calendar year will receive an IRS Form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.

3)    Prize money in any denomination will be in the form of a check. All checks must be picked up at the KOLA Studios at 1940 Orange Tree Lane Suite 200, Redlands Ca 92374 during regular business hours. Allow 6-8 weeks.  Due to potential HEALTH restrictions, an appointment to pick up a prize at the KOLA studios will be required.

2)    Any potential winner, even if announced, is subject to verification.  If potential winner does not meet all requirements, no prize will be awarded regardless of any announcement of a winner’s status. All contestants (qualifiers) must be at least 21 years of age for this contest.

3)    KOLA 99.9 FM is not responsible for the inability of the listener to enter through technical, mechanical, or other errors associated with entering said contest.

4)    Employees and agents/vendors of KOLA 99.9, Anaheim Broadcasting and their families, their advertising agencies or representatives, including employees of Participating Sponsors or Provider of said Prize and any family members related to an employee who is involved in any way with the contest prize or elements of the contest prize, are ineligible to enter this contest conducted by KOLA 99.9.

5)    Generally, all prizes must be claimed in-person at the KOLA Business Office – 1940 Orange Tree Lane Suite 200, Redlands Ca 92374 – within 30 days of being contacted by KOLA 99.9 that the prize is available for pickup.  If not picked up within 30 days of being contacted – that the prize is available, that said prize is forfeited.  This particular prize must be claimed through Connection to Cruise (see disclosure below).  KOLA 99.9 may, due to the unavailability of prizes awarded, substitute another prize of equal or greater value for the prize originally won.  Prizes are not transferrable to any other person.  All Prize Winners are encouraged to call KOLA Promotions (1-909-793-3554 x213) prior to picking up a prize to confirm that said prize is available at the time of their proposed arrival.

a.     Methods of winning will be determined and announced on-air at the time of the contest solicit and consist of (b.)Text Contests, (c.) Phone-in Contests, (d.) On-line Contests or a combination of all three.  No particular method is guaranteed and KOLA reserves the right to change the method of entering or participating in the stated contest at any time.

1. Text Contests
   During the contest times listed above, listeners may be encouraged through a contest solicit to text in the “keyword” announced at that time to 1-909-798-5600. See (e.).
2. Phone-in Contests
   During the contest times above, listeners may be encouraged through a contest solicit to be the 19^th caller at 1-909-798-5600.  If they are the correct caller and meet all the eligibility requirements, they will become a contestant for the contest as outlined in (h.).

d.    On-Line.
Listeners will be encouraged to enter once per day online at kolafm.com.  Entries must be received by 5pm on the Thursday prior to the Friday Grand Prize Drawing to be eligible. One entry per contest week will be chosen at random from all online entrants  up to that point in a separate drawing to take place after 5:01p on Thursdays.  Listeners will then be able to enter again once per day following the announcement of the Grand Prize Winner on scheduled contest Fridays.  Online entry ends on Thursday 4.13.23 at 5pm.

1. For “Text Contests”, a random drawing from all those listeners who texted in the correct “keyword” (meeting all requirements) and upon being contacted by KOLA through process described in sections (f.) and (g.) will become either a qualifier for a future grand prize drawing or become a winner of the stated prize when qualifying is not required in the process of awarding the prize stated.

1. The contest period consists of the solicit at the prescribed range of times and the collection of texts during that time period, which is 5 minutes.  That is, upon hearing the “keyword” for that particular contest time, the contestants have only 5 minutes to text that “keyword” to 1-909-798-5600 in order to be considered for the random drawing for that specific contest time.  Each contest entry is separate.  No entries are held over or considered during any other contest times that day or during any contest day.  Contestants must enter each contest separately with the correct “keyword”.

1. Upon choosing a random contestant (from e.), KOLA will call that random potential winner through the phone number provided (originated from the phone via text).  If that person does not answer their phone by the third ring, another random drawing will be held.  This process continues until a potential qualifier or winner (through random drawing) answers their phone and completes the process to become a “contestant”.

1. This random contestant will have the opportunity to be a qualifier and entered into the next scheduled Friday’s Grand Prize Drawing.  If qualifying occurs on a Friday (after 8am), the next Grand Prize Drawing will be on the following Friday morning at approximately 7:40a.

1. On schedule grand prize Fridays, a potential winner will be chosen in a random drawing consisting of all previous contest days qualifiers (for that contest week), plus one online qualifier (chosen  at a random separate and previous drawing outlined in “d.”).  All qualifiers must be at least 21 years of age.

1. Only one qualifier per household per any method used will be allowed in any Grand Prize Drawing.

1. At approximately 7:40a on a scheduled Grand Prize Friday (see “i.”), an announcement will be made as to who is the person identified as the potential winner in the random Grand Prize Drawing as described above in (i.).  The person randomly chosen in the drawing, will have five minutes to call the KOLA Studios at 1-909-798-5600.  If that person (who’s name was announced at 7:40a) calls back within the allotted time, that person (subject to meeting eligibility requirements) will be announced as that Friday’s “Grand Prize Winner”” and win the stated above Grand Prize.   There is no separate contest involving texting if the previously announced winner calls back in the allotted time.  And the contest continues as described in (n.), (o) and (p.) leading up to the next Friday Grand Prize Drawing, if one exists.

l.      If the person, who’s name was announced at or around 7:40a, does not call back within the allotted time (5-minutes), that person DOES NOT WIN the stated “Grand Prize”.  KOLA is not responsible for the inability of a person (who’s name was announced at 7:40a as the potential winner) to contact the KOLA studio.  No consideration for extenuating circumstances. 

1. Having not called back in the allotted time (if the case is so), a new and separate contest begins.  At the next available time (after the allotted time), listeners will be told that the person (who’s name was previously called at 7:40a) did not call back within the allotted time.  Therefore a random person who texts the KOLA studio (with the indicated keyword) at 1-909-798-5600 will be chosen in a random drawing that takes place 5 minutes after the announcement of the “keyword”.  That person, chosen at random (from all texts with the correct “keyword”) will be the potential winner of the “Grand Prize” following the guidelines for qualifying in “f”, “g.” and “h.”
2. Each contest week is separate.  That is, in order to be eligible to win in a specific Friday grand prize drawing, a contestant must qualify or requalify for that specific Friday grand prize drawing during the contest week (Friday 8:00a – Thursday 5:00p) leading up to that Friday’s grand prize drawing.

1. No entries / contestants will be carried over between contest weeks regardless of the method of qualifying.

1. Upon choosing a grand prize winner in the scheduled Friday’s grand prize drawing, the next individual contest day (weekdays) resumes after 8:00a and continues until approximately 5:00p on the next Thursday. All previous qualifiers from the prior contest days, whether on-air (through texting) or online (with the exception of the one winner who is excluded from all subsequent drawings) will no longer have qualifier status and must qualify again for the next scheduled Friday Grand Prize Drawing. A listener/household can only qualify once per contest week. A listener can only have a maximum of one entry per grand prize drawing. That is, an on-air texting qualifier cannot additionally be chosen in the random online drawing, (d.) and have two entries into the next scheduled Friday’s grand prize drawing. Only one entry per contest considered in grand prize drawings regardless of method of entry

1. The contest continues in this manner until the final day of qualifying on Thursday April 13, 2023 at 5:00p. The final drawing for this portion of the contest will take place on Friday April 14, 2023 between 7:00am – 7:40am.

1. In the case of contests involving texting, all data fees and charges apply and KOLA is not responsible for any fees or charges that coincide with the listeners ability to enter through texting.

1. Additionally, by texting KOLA for requests, comments on topics, inquiries or any contest, it’s understood that you will receive a reply containing an advertisement.  All data fees and charges apply per your existing texting or data plan.

1. Prize consists only of the item(s) specifically listed as part of the prize and does not include additional fees, gratuities, travel expenses and or taxes associated with the use of this prize.  See Disclosure below.
