Leave it to Stephen Colbert to make his final show feel less like a goodbye and more like a wild, star-studded multiverse party! Colbert ended his 11-year run with The Late Show inside a snow globe, paying homage to the famous 1988 ending of the medical drama St. Elsewhere. The show started with several celebrities popping up thinking they were his last guest including Bryan Cranston, Paul Rudd, and Ryan Reynolds. Stephen’s real last guest was Sir Paul McCartney, but their interview got interrupted when an interdimensional wormhole opened backstage and stuff started getting pulled into it. World-renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson showed up to explain that the wormhole opened because of two contradictory realities existing at once: that Colbert’s show was #1, but also got canceled. The Late Show set is being donated to The Chicago Museum of Broadcast Communications.
