Crowded House To Play 2022 Hampton Court Palace Festival

Crowded House are set to play at England's annual Hampton Court Palace Festival next year.

The "Fall At Your Feet" rocker's announced that their 2022 European tour will include a date at England's annual Hampton Court Palace Festival. Earlier this year, the Australian rock band had postponed their U.K. and European Tour for a second time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Originally scheduled to be held in 2020, Crowded House's first European tour in a decade was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. The run was delayed again for the same reason.

The tour will now begin at The Roundhouse in London on June 5, 2022, and run through July 3, when the final show will take place at Noches del Botánico in Madrid, Spain.

Crowded House's performing line-up sees Neil Finn and Nick Seymour joined by Mitchell Froom and Neil's sons, Liam and Elroy Finn.

Tickets for Crowded House's Hampton Court show are on sale via the Hampton Court Palace Festival website.

Meanwhile, the band's latest album, Dreamers Are Waiting, dropped on June 4 via EMI Music Australia.

U2 Launch Artist Takeover On Pandora In Celebration Of 40th Anniversary Of 'October'

Marking the 40th anniversary of U2's seminal album October, the rock legends have announced the launch of the biggest-ever Artist Takeover on Pandora's U2 Radio station.

U2's Artist Takeover on Pandora is an exclusive listening experience where members of the iconic group take fans on a personal journey through the making of their first three albums - Boy (1980), October (1981), and War (1983). Additional album Modes are expected to be rolled out on Pandora's U2 Radio station in the coming months.

"Pandora has given us an opportunity to tell U2's story in a completely new way, weaving the music of our heroes together with our own using songs, memories, and inspirations," said U2 guitarist The Edge. "Music is the most powerful storytelling medium, and Modes has created an incredible new way to share the sounds and experiences that made us who we are as artists."

Paul McCartney Describes Rolling Stones As A 'Blues Cover Band'

Paul McCartney Describes Rolling Stones As A 'Blues Cover Band'

Beatles legend Paul McCartney appeared to take a dig at friendly rivals The Rolling Stones in a recent interview with The New Yorker.

In the interview with the New Yorker's David Remnick, McCartney purportedly suggested the Beatles worked from a broader range of musical languages than their peers like the Rolling Stones.

"I'm not sure I should say it, but they're a blues cover band, that's sort of what the Stones are," the rock icon told Remnick. "I think our net was cast a bit wider than theirs."

The stinging remark comes after McCartney recently sought to blame late Beatles bandmate John Lennon for the breakup of the legendary band.

"I didn't instigate the split. That was our Johnny," McCartney said in a new BBC interview. "I am not the person who instigated the split."

"John walked into a room one day and said I am leaving the Beatles. And he said, 'It's quite thrilling, it's rather like a divorce.' And then we were left to pick up the pieces," he added.

McCartney is set to speak on an episode of BBC Radio 4's series "This Cultural Life," which is scheduled to air in full on October 23.

Tears For Fears Announce First New Album In 17 Years 'The Tipping Point'

Tears For Fears Announce First New Album In 17 Years 'The Tipping Point'

Tears for Fears have announced their long-awaited seventh album, The Tipping Point, which is set to drop on February 25, 2022, via Concord Records.

Tears for Fears duo Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith also dropped the title track and an accompanying music video directed by Matt Mahurin.

The Tipping Point will be the duo's first album since their reunion set Everybody Loves A Happy Ending in 2004. It's described as "a song cycle reflecting many of the personal and professional tipping points the pair, and the world, have faced" during the interim.

"Before everything went so right with this album, everything first had to go wrong," says Orzabal. "It took years, but something happens when we put our heads together. We've got this balance, this push-me-pull-you thing - and it works really well."

"If that balance doesn't work on a Tears For Fears album, the whole thing just doesn't work. To put it in simple terms, a Tears For Fears record and what people perceive to be the sound of Tears For Fears is the stuff we can both agree on," Smith agreed.

This album was created alongside Tears for Fears' longtime collaborator Charlton Pettus, with songwriters and producers Florian Reutter and Sacha Skarbek.

The Tipping Point track list:

Bruce Springsteen Shares 'Sherry Darling' Performance From 'No Nukes' Concert

Bruce Springsteen recently shared a live performance of "Sherry Darling" from his legendary 1979 "No Nukes" concert ahead of the release of the concert film.

The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts is scheduled for digital release on November 16 and physical release a week later.

The film features all 13 songs that Springsteen and the E Street Band performed during their charity fundraiser concerts at Madison Square Garden, New York, in September 1979.

"Having worked as Bruce's principal director and editor for the last 20 years, I can say without reservation that this newly re-edited, re-mixed and restored 90-minute film is the gold standard for Bruce and the band live during one of their greatest creative periods," the film's editor Thom Zinny said in a statement.

"A few years ago, I started re-examining the filmed archives for Bruce and the band's appearances at the No Nukes concerts," he added. "I quickly realized that these were the best performances and best filming from the band's legendary '70s, and dedicated myself to bringing out the full potential of the footage."

Paul McCartney Claims John Lennon Instigated Beatles Breakup

Paul McCartney Claims John Lennon Instigated Beatles Breakup

Beatles legend Paul McCartney has claimed that it was John Lennon who instigated the breakup of the legendary band.

In a new BBC interview, McCartney said the band's split was prompted by Lennon. "I didn't instigate the split. That was our Johnny," he told interviewer John Wilson. "I am not the person who instigated the split."

He added, "Oh no, no, no. John walked into a room one day and said I am leaving the Beatles. And he said, 'It's quite thrilling, it's rather like a divorce.' And then we were left to pick up the pieces."

McCartney is set to speak on an episode of BBC Radio 4's series "This Cultural Life," which is scheduled to air in full on October 23.

Wilson further asked whether the band would have continued if Lennon hadn't walked away.

"It could have," McCartney replied. "The point of it really was that John was making a new life with Yoko and he wanted... to lie in bed for a week in Amsterdam for peace. You couldn't argue with that. It was the most difficult period of my life."

"This was my band, this was my job, this was my life," he added. "I wanted it to continue. I thought we were doing some pretty good stuff - Abbey Road, Let It Be, not bad - and I thought we could continue."

However, when the band broke up in 1970, fans had suggested that McCartney was the reason behind the split.

Ohio State Marching Band Pays Tribute To Neil Peart

Ohio State Marching Band Pays Tribute To Neil Peart

The Ohio State Marching Band paid tribute to late Rush drummer Neil Peart by adding a little more percussion to the mix for the halftime show at Ohio State University's Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Saturday.

Peart was a member of the progressive rock band for more than 40 years before he died from cancer last year. To help recreate Peart's sonic impact, the percussion section was expanded by 20 toms and 20 extra cymbals mounted on four racks. They were at the front of the formation and played by the band's five percussion alternates.

In a 14-minute medley of classic tracks, the band blistered through some of Rush's greatest hits, including "Red Barchetta," "Fly by Night" and "Tom Sawyer."

Formations replicated Peart and Rush guitar player Alex Lifeson and spelled out "2112" and "YYZ," titles to Rush songs.
